Sub Mission – Fallen Onmyou Mages Walkthrough
The Fallen Onmyou Mages is a sub mission in which William goes to Mt. Hiei. According to legend, Mt. Hiei is a holy ground. But, fiends soon filled the area after the onmyou mages turned away from their practice. Thus, William makes his way to Mt. Hiei to restore the order in the mountain.
The mission starts on a rainy night. Run down the hill and grab the shrine before moving on to start the mission. Check your healing items, onmyou magic, or whatever you need done. Who knows what’s out there?
After doing a quick check up, leave the shrine and you’re at a fork. Head down the right path and follow it down until you spot an onmyou mage practicing magic on the spike. Get rid of him and the incoming ninja. As long as you destroy the spikes, the spells will stop.
After that, follow the path down until you see a ledge. Leap off the ledge and kill the two mages. However, the mages will summon a Tengu. Best to lure the Tengu away and kill it first. Then, take out the mages before they cause problems. If you want some loot, don’t forget to destroy the crystal.
Next, head up the hill where you’ll find a corpse. Loot it for some Amrita and an item before returning to the main path. Follow the main path down and then make a left. You might get ambushed by a ninja here. Take him out and head towards the brightly lit compound.
Before you step into the compound, check at your far right. There’s an Onmyou Mage hiding in the darkness. Take him out before making your way to the field. Next, take out the Yokai before taking out the mage near the stairs. Do be careful about the hole that the Yokai was guarding.
Next, take out the two mages nearby. One will come to the aid of the one near the stairs and the other is still at the spike. Either way, kill them both.
When the area’s cleared up, head down the path. Make a small detour on the right to loot a corpse. Be sure that the yokai doesn’t spot you while you’re looting. However, a ninja may attack you so be on the look out.
After looting the corpse, follow the path of that detour before making your way down to another brightly lit compound. Only this time, there’s a humongous crystal sitting in the middle of the courtyard. While there, you’ll spot two mages casting a spell. Large yokai will spawn and go after you. Lure them out one by one before taking out the mages.
When you’re done, destroy the crystal and voila! You’re done with the Fallen Onmyou Sub Mission!
