Hino-enma is a female yōkai, and is the third boss you will face in Nioh’s main adventure. The battle with Hino-enma begins when you enter a cave; a cutscene will be triggered, showing her victims hanging from the cave’s ceiling until she herself is revealed.

Hino-enma Boss Guide
Aside from her speed, Hino-enma comes armed with three main kinds of attacks that make use of her wings and flight abilities. She can throw an air blast-style projectile as well as a set of spikes that she throws from each wing. She also has an air dash that slams her body into William. For close-quarters combat, she can strike with her wings, or do a turning kick.
Her area is a large circular space that’s nearly empty, so there won’t be anywhere to hide. Hino-enma will rise up into the air from time to time to throw her projectiles and save herself from damage. Watch out, because her projectiles can paralyze you and leave you open to a one-hit defeat.
The easiest way to defeat Hino-enma is to circle around her while locked on by pressing R3. Distance is key here, so spears are your best bet in this encounter because they can damage her from afar. Try to evade her attacks while drawing in closer, then time your hits as she is finishing her attacks. Don’t get in too close though, as her close-quarter strikes can deal heavy damage to your health.
