Otani Yoshitsugu Boss Guide
William encounters Otani Yoshitsugu during the Sekigahara Main Mission.
Fortunately, most of his attacks deal minimal damage and are easy to avoid. However, this is not to say that his damage count applies throughout the whole battle. A good indicator of when he becomes more difficult is when he stabs himself with the dual katanas, this alters his weapons’ colors to light blue. Note that grapples and finishers don’t work during this boss battle.
The way to handle him by this rate is to keep attacking him to get his Ki to run out. When it fully depletes, he reverts to his original form.
While his sword glows blue, make sure to have an ample amount of Ki gauge on hand. Prepare to perform several side dodges when he attempts to attack. Be wary especially against the incoming projectiles because if not, it’s a possible game over. Use the low stance to maximize your chances of dodging. However, his original form can be fought with either the low or mid stance. Whenever he closes in for an attack, get behind him and deal a handful of blows to his back. This works extremely well whenever you incapacitate him with a stun, since it deals massive damage.
