Saika Magoichi Boss Guide
William comes across the twenty-sixth boss, Saika Magoichi in the Immortal Flame Main Mission. A formidable opponent, he capitalizes on dishing out light attacks that can eliminate you with a single combo.
Even though Dual Katanas don’t do much, they are advised when fighting Saika Magoichi since they you get to dodge as a recovery while conserving the most Ki. Arm the Dual Katanas and pair it with the low stance. If you get to knock him near the flames surrounding the stage, he suffers residual damage from the fire. Apart from this, he prefers to battle you with Ranged Weapons, therefore, it’s better use melee on him so that his explosives miss.
Apart from Ki management being a matter of life and death, timing is equally significant. Thus, close in on him through either 1 of the 3 possible opportunities: whenever he misses you with an aerial dash, whenever he descends from flight, and when he summons his avian ally. It seems that he is also open to a combo after he just finished firing his Rifle.
Conserve Ki when dodging, it’s better to have an abundance of it than suffering from damage whenever you lack any. Remember to save some also after you strike him with a combo, the best indicator is that you deal your last attack just before you fully deplete your Ki gauge. This should guarantee at most 3 dodges for safety.
Watch for Saika Magoichi’s flight by executing blocks when he lunges at you. By the time he lands back to the ground, immediately pursue him then strike a combo. Calling upon your Guardian Spirit significantly boosts your performance against this battle. Not only does the Living Weapon increase your attacks, but also gets him to the ground. This allows you to land your attacks safely.
