The Sub Mission The Master of the Twin Blades pits William against a horde of Yokai as well as some enemy samurai. You’ll need to survive the onslaught and prove yourself in this mission.
Sub Mission – Master of the Twin Blades Walkthrough
At the start of the mission, you’ll find you ally surrounded by samurai at the lower part of the map. Proceed down and take them out. The first group consists of a spearman, swordsman and a towering axeman. Take out the weaker spearman and swordsman first, then focus on the axeman.
The second wave will be composed of another towering axeman and enemy with a hand cannon above. Quickly take out the axeman as it starts to spawn, then shoot the enemy above with a range weapon.
The next wave will be two hulking Yokai that shoot fireballs at you. You can try to use a Moment Talisman to knock one down and dish out damage when it is helpless, but make sure you pay attention to what the other one is doing. After a while, a Flame Wheel enemy will spawn, so if you haven’t managed to kill the remaining hulking Yokai, focus on the the Wheel first. Then, kill the last hulking Yokai. There will be another enemy at the top shooting at you, so aim for it and take it out as well.
The next wave will be composed of a Cyclops Yokai, a dual katana-wielding Revenant and somewhere around 4 Oni-bis. You can try to take out the Oni-bis first, then the Revenant and lastly, the Cyclops Yokai as it is quite slow to follow you around. After killing them all, prepare for a boss fight.

The last enemy of the level is Nue, who you encountered in the Main Mission The Spirit Stone Slumbers. He employs the same types of attacks as his Main Mission version, so the method to defeating him is still just staying mobile and watching for his telegraphed lightning attacks. After you’ve defeated Nue, the mission will be completed.
