Umi-bozu Boss Guide
Umi-bozu is the eighth boss that William will encounter in Nioh. In Main Mission: The Ocean Roars Again, make sure that you light all 3 evil warding bonfires before fighting this boss. The boss’s body is mostly made up of water, with glowing eyes, mouth, and heart. Umi-bozu will often times hides beneath the water, which makes it immune to attacks, but it will eventually show up and that’s where you can land attacks against it. The boss is weak to fire, so imbue your weapons with fire before facing the enemy.
First Phase
The best type of weapon to use against Umi-bozu is the dual katanas, as they are significantly faster than any type of weapon in the game. Umi-bozu often appears for a short period of time, so hitting it with fast attacks is the best option to easily beat this boss. Use low stance against Umi-bozu for much faster attacks. After you deal enough damage in one combo, dodge its attacks by simply moving closer to it, as its long range attacks can hit William much more efficiently than its short range attacks. Once it’s HP is down to 1/3, it will move to its second phase.
Second Phase
In the second phase, the boss will jump in the middle of the arena and fight you on the platform. With much faster and stronger attacks, he will be much more difficult to dodge against, so keep your reflexes at maximum in order to avoid its blows. Once you deal enough damage, it will be stunned, which makes it the perfect time to land another combo of katana slices.
