Origins
His genesis came about when Old Man of the Mountain was embraced as a title. King Hassan is the first to take up the title “Hassan-i-Sabbah.” None of the followers of the Old Man of the Mountain know who he truly is.
Apart from his membership in the Old Man of the Mountain, King Hassan works as an inspector to ultimately purge the cult’s tendency to becoming unclean. In order to separate the the withered branches, and prevent the spread of blasphemy.
The beginning of the cult’s deterioration depends on its leader who bears the title Old Man of the Mountain. With deterioration comes death. It is essential for the leader to prevent any opportunity to become unclean. He carries the task of eliminating any interference to preserve the purity of the cult. Armed with a broad sword, he eliminates those assassins, and to those who become the executioner’s witness, will vanish shortly.
