Romulus

HP 1779 ATK 1344
Max HP 9883 Max ATK 7239

Strategy

  • Romulus is a Servant with good survivability, owing to his HP recovery active skills. He can also be used to boost the team’s damage potential for 3 turns when his overcharged NP is activated.
  • His Imperial Privilege is extremely useful, since it has a chance to give him better attack and defense for 3 turns if you’re lucky. This essentially makes him a rather independent Servant who can increase his potential in combat on his own.
  • A good teammate for Romulus is Ramsesses II, who also shares similar abilities of buffing himself and the party for 3 turns. Ramsesses II’s Protection from Ra skill will also improve the chances of buffs such as Imperial Privilege to be applied on Romulus, as well as himself.

Best Equipment

  • Further improving his survivability is the Maid in Halloween CE, especially when he is fully ascended. Other options include Necromancy or even more staying power.

Origins

Romulus is the twin brother of Remus and son of Rhea Silvia. Most people wondered how Rhea Silvia managed to conceive children as she was anointed to be a Vestal Virgin. Only then did people realize that her lover was not a man but a god. The father of Romulus and Remus revealed himself as Mars, the god of war.

Their uncle, Amulius, threw both boys in the River Tiber in hopes of getting rid of them. However, a she-wolf suckled Romulus and Remus with her milk. Soon, an old shepherd found the two boys before raising them as his own. Once the boys reached the proper age, Faustus, the shepherd, relayed to them the tale of their birth and who they were. With that, Romulus and Remus agreed to slay Amulius and restore Numitor to the throne.

Once Numitor had been restored, Romulus and Remus agreed to build a city along the River Tiber. The twin brothers had a contest only for Romulus to receive favour. Remus mocked his feeble attempts to build the city only for Romulus to strike him dead out of ferocity. When the city had been built, he declared the place sanctuary where all outlaws and fugitives could stay. He also invited the Sabines whose women were kidnapped away by his citizens.

Romulus however wouldn’t stay an earthly ruler for long. Mars begged on his behalf to make his son a god to which Jupiter agreed. As Romulus ascended to godhood, he then looked down and watched the city he founded. All the reigns – Caligula, Nero, Caesar – brought both the rise and fall of his empire.
