Servants
Servants are the heroes summoned from the past. But what allows them to appear in the world is the Holy Grail. Using its power, the Holy Grail allows these heroic spirits to manifest and participate in the Holy Grail War. Each servant has their own specific class but there are some that can appear in several different classes. What allows servants to be classified into different classes is how they lived their life. As heroes or anti-heroes of their own legend, they each have a special weapon called a “Noble Phantasm”. This weapon is their signature weapon; it’s also what allows them to end the battle decisively.
However should the enemy know the Noble Phantasm, they would also be able to decipher the name of the Servant. When they do so, it may become a disadvantage to the magus contracted to the servant. But the servant does not fight alone. A magus usually fights alongside them, using their own version of magic to battle.
