This article contains tips and tricks on how to farm Gold Medals easily in Fate Grand Order [FGO]. These Gold Medals are only available during the Nero Festival. The event is from July 25, 2017 ~ August 3, 2017.
How to Farm Gold Medals
Gold Medals are one of the most difficult items to farm for not because of their drop rate but because of the enemies needed to defeat. However, one incentive for farming it is to encourage players to aim for multiple Limited CEs, since the stock for this CE in terms of Gold Medals is 2 instead of 1. The other reason is that Homunculus Baby requires exchanging Gold Medals, which is an essential Ascension and Skill Reinforcement Item for strengthening certain servants whose ascension/ Skill level was not obtainable prior to the event.
Here are some tips that can help in order to farm for the Gold Medals.
Tip #1: Fight in the Expert League
Fighting in the Expert League requires 30 AP which appears costly however this offers around 20,380 EXP upon completion in comparison to 40 AP cost from the Daily Quests which only grant 15,690 EXP. In this way, there is a higher chance for reaching the required amount of EXP to raise your Master Level and continue farming. However, beneath the Expert League are multiple high HP enemies. In the case of Three Heroes of China, Berserker class enemies guard the first 2 waves and they can easily tear unprepared teams. The enemies’ HP range from 11,000 to 60,000, thus it requires 2 servants around level 50s with recommended classes being Casters and Berserkers.
The fights below are the ones that drop the highest amount of Gold Medals:

As of now, the best place to farm would be Three Heroes of China.
Tip #2: Find a Strong Support Ally
It is crucial to assign a strong Support Ally, especially if you can afford to add people with servants that have advantageous classes over the specified tendencies. In the case of this round, one of the recommended servants is Zhuge Liang since he receives neutral damage from the Caster enemy, and deals effective damage to the Assassin class.
Tip #3: Don’t fight a battle one can’t win
Without a strong support ally, the team will likely be wiped out and might have to spend a Saint Quartz or Golden Fruit just to finish the Quest, thereby putting the Master at a loss during farming (unless a Command Spell is active).
In the event that it seems that one is operating at a loss, partake of the next Quest available. In this case, Diva with the Beautiful Voice +1 can be a decent substitute for farming Gold Medals, however it will also drop Silver Medals. If your sole concern is Gold, you can freely trade 10 of the Silver ones in the Exchange to obtain 1 Gold.
