Strategy

Fire Resistance

When enraged, Anajanth’s bite attacks will have additional fire damage and inflict fireblight. Wearing fire-resistant armor such as the Kulu and Bone armor sets will help you survive. You can also eat a veggie platter to boost fire resistance before heading out.

Be Patient

Anjanath will considerably be more aggressive than all the monsters previously encountered in the main story. Focus on dodging its moves and retaliate as it recovers. Do not underestimate the range of Anjanath’s attacks as it can hit you from a good distance.

Be very careful when Anjanath is enraged. It will be more unrelenting in its attacks and recover faster from them. Anjanath will also use its fire breath attack when angered.

Don’t Stand Too Long Behind It

Anjanath does a very quick double tail swipe when you are behind it. The move has an incredibly fast wind-up, so it is best to avoid staying at its rear for too long.

Use Quick Weapons

Fast-hitting weapons like the sword and shield and dual blades allow you to stay mobile when fighting Anjanath. You can also pull back easily when the monster winds up any of its attacks. It is still possible to defeat it with slower weapons, though you will need to put more effort into timing attacks.

Use Nullberies

Use Nullberies to cure fireblight if you get hit with Anjanath’s fire attacks. Nullberies can also be obtained in gathering spots all around the Ancient Forest. Rolling on the ground removes fireblight as well.

Avoid its Fire Breath Attack

When Anajanth is enraged, a bone-like formation will protrude from its head. It will then be able to perform its fire breath attack. Frills will sprout from Anjanath’s body as it tilts its head back to unleash a stream of fire in front of it. Dodge to the side when you see it winding up to avoid taking heavy damage.

Cut off Anjanath’s Tail

Anjanath’s tail attack will have less range when its tail has been severed.
