Strategy

Bring Consumables

You need a couple of items to defeat Leshen, especially in the latter parts of the battle. Some good things to bring are Astera Jerky to cure the bleeding and a well-done steak to get more health and stamina.

Use Dragon Pods

With the power to control minds, Leshen can command Revolture to cover its body and create an aura. Approaching the aura will cause you to take some chip damage. To break Leshen’s aura, use some dragon pods. Alternatively, you can use the Igni sign to remove it.

Don’t Get Too Close

Leshen has a habit of sending a flock of Revolture when it’s nearby. Despite dealing minor damage, these pesky creatures can disrupt your actions or even cause you to lose balance. In addition, most of Leshen’s common attacks are close quarters. If you keep your distance away from it, it will be easy to dodge them. It gets tricky if you wield melee weapons though, so you need to anticipate its attacks. When Leshen leans over, immediately backpedal to prevent the roots from reaching you.

Avoid Getting Stunned

Leshen also gets a rather nasty attack. You can tell when the attack is coming as Leshen will raise both of its arms in the air. It will then dig its claws into the ground. If the attack connects, roots will then appear on Geralt’s feet to throw him into the air. You need to prevent it from connecting multiple attacks to avoid being immobilized. The minute you notice Leshen throwing its arms upwards, execute a side roll to escape its grasp.

Handling the Jagras

When you reach the middle phase, Leshen will start to send out a pack of Jagras. They deal more damage than Revolture and can also interrupt your actions. Take out these minions with swift attacks since their health isn’t that high.

Cure Ailments

During this phase, Leshen can also inflict you with bleeding. Your health will turn pink when you are bleeding. Provided that there are no patrolling Jagras, you can use an Astera Jerky to remove the ailment.

Keep Moving

Leshen moves across multiple areas on the map each time its health falls a certain amount. You need to follow its movements while reacting to its attacks.
