Paolumu are ovovores, their diet consisting of eggs found on the highlands. They use internal air sacs to glide in the air. One of their attacks involves swooping down to deliver a tail sweep.

Anticipate its Inflated State
Force it to use attacks where some of its parts are inflated, as Paolumu becomes vulnerable when it inflates. If you’re using melee weapons, one way to strike it down is by downing it with flash pods. Another, albeit risky, option is to leap from ledges to get close enough to land your attack.
When Paolumu becomes inflated, it will either summon gusts to temporarily immobilize you or swoop down. Backpedal and circle around it to dodge its attack. Wait until it’s about to finish its attack, then punish it while it attempts to recover.
Stay to its Side and Strike its Throat
Most enemies tend to strike from the front or the rear and Paolumu is no exception. When it’s grounded, you need to move to its side to get close to its weak spot. Aim for the throat and perform an upward attack with your weapon to stagger it.
Dodge its Dive
One of its attacks is a full body press where it swoops down and lunges at you. Anticipate the attack and perform a side roll to avoid it.
