Tzitzi-Ya-Ku Monster Guide

Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is a bird wyvern identified by a pair of large frills on its head. It uses these organs to emit a blinding flash that stuns its prey, leaving them helpless. Its well-developed legs allow it to perform powerful kicks or leap high into the air. Tzitzi-Ya-Ku can be found roaming Coral Highlands in search of Raphinos and Shamos for food.

Strategy

Don’t Rush In

Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is very agile and will attack with its powerful legs and tail. Its side kick and tail whip attacks are particularly fast and can stun you if you get hit too often. When your health gets very low, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku can then finish you off with a powerful leaping kick. Avoid charging in recklessly and focus on punishing Tzitzi-Ya-Ku when it misses.

Avoid its Flash Attack

Tzitzi-Ya-Ku can emit a blinding flash in a forward cone to stun targets. The move has a bit of a wind-up, allowing you to easily get out of range. When you see the frills on Tzitzi-Ya-Ku’s head glow, run or dodge to its side. The flash can also be blocked by guarding with weapons like the lance, gunlance, or sword and shield.

Break its Head

The frills that allow Tzitzi-Ya-Ku to perform its flash attack are on its head. Damaging them reduces the move’s range, while destroying them prevents Tzitzi-Ya-Ku from stunning you entirely. Tzitzi-Ya-Ku Photophores can also be obtained as a quest reward or by carving the slain monster.
