Having high thunder resistance helps mitigate damage from Fulgur Anjanath’s elemental attacks. Kirin armor pieces offer among the best defenses in this regard. Other ways to further lower thunder damage include eating a veggie platter before heading out and wearing the thunderproof mantle in battle.
Focus on Dodging
Fulgur Anjanath shares the same aggressive behavior of its regular species. Do not charge at it recklessly and instead focus on avoiding its attacks. Be patient and wait for openings before quickly going on the defensive again. Note that Fulgur Anjanath’s attacks have impressive tracking, especially up close.
Try to get familiar with how many hits you can get in before Fulgur Anjanath retaliates so that you never overextend. When it is enraged, move a good distance away until it calms down. It is not recommended to attack Fulgur Anjanath in this state since it will have increased speed and elemental damage.
Beware of Frequent Follow-Up Attacks
Getting knocked down once by Fulgur Anjanath can set you up for its follow-up attack. This, coupled with Fulgur Anjanath’s ability to cause thunderblight, makes it very easy for the monster to stun you. Do not get up immediately after getting floored to prevent Fulgur Anjanath from landing a second hit. It will likely finish you off if you get stunned.
Strafe to its Side
Fulgur Anjanath can quickly recover from an attack to do a follow-up. Do not stay in one spot for too long by constantly strafing to its side. This also helps you avoid its lightning mucus projectiles that deal massive amounts of elemental damage.
It is also not completely safe to always be behind Fulgur Anjanath. Its back-turned leg swipe can clip you if you spend too long behind it without moving. The attack is also infused with lightning that can cause thunderblight. Strafing while you attack helps you avoid getting hit.
It is important to cure yourself of thunderblight as fast as possible when fighting Fulgur Anjanath. Stock up on Nulberries before heading out or get them from gathering points around Hoarfrost Reach.
