Strategy

Preparation

Bring some screamer pods to force Diablos to emerge from underground during the fight. This will momentarily leave it open to strike. Flashpods can be used to interrupt Diablos out of its charge attack.

Bring as many healing items as you can. Diablos is a very challenging monster for most players because of its aggressive behavior.

It is recommended to eat a fish platter before heading out to boost defense for better survivability.

Diablos

Adopt a defensive strategy when up against Diablos. Try to get a feel for how many hits you can land during openings before Diablos retaliates. Pull back when Diablos is enraged and wait for it to calm down for safer opportunities to engage.

Create some distance to bait out Diablos’ charge attacks. Run to the side to make it miss or use a flashpod to stun it momentarily. Flashflies found in area 13 also have the same effect.

Diablos Monster Guide

Screamer pods are useful for forcing Diablos to surface from underground. This additionally prevents it from doing its emerging horn attack. You can make screamer pods from screamer sacs obtained from the Noios all around Wildspire Waste.

Intruders

Use dungpods on Barroth or Rathian when they interfere with your quest. Diablos frequently tunnels underground and may disappear if you lose sight of it. It will likely appear under you when you are off-guard to perform an emerging horn attack. Try to take on Diablos alone for an easier hunt.
