Strategy

Focus on its Head and Belly

When attacking, make sure to focus on its belly or the top of its head rather than its chin.

Use a Water Weapon

Prior to the fight, equip a weapon that is endowed with the water property.

Destroy the Magma Cores

Its signature move is a spinning attack which deploys red balls on the ground. Touching a ball will cause it to detonate. Uragaan can also make them explode by pounding the ground with its jaw. You must destroy them using a ranged attack to clear the path.

Check for Cues

Anticipate Uragaan’s roar since this signals that it will follow up for a jaw slam. Your best bet is to approach it quickly from the side to land your attacks. Sometimes, it will start to shake. When it does this, it will follow up by releasing steam to inflict sleep or fireblight. You need to back away to avoid getting caught and launch projectiles of your own.

Invest in level 3 Tremor resistance

Uragaan likes to slam the ground with its chin to cause tremors. If staggering is an issue, use gear with a max level of tremor resistance to gain immunity.

Strike its Head or Gather Ore

After dealing enough hits, it will fall down. To earn a capture or kill, you need to focus your attacks on its head. However if you need the precious ore, you can use this time to mine its back.
