Beta Begins this Weekend
Capcom has announced that a two-part beta period for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be held this month on the PlayStation 4. The game is set for release on September 6, 2019 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Starting June 21 (3:00 a.m. GMT-7) to June 24 (3:00 a.m. GMT-7), PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download a playable version of the game. The demo will be available for non-subscribers on June 28 (3:00 a.m. GMT-7) to July 1 (3:00 a.m. GMT-7).
The beta consists of three playable quests. The first is the Great Jagras hunt from the base version of Monster Hunter: World. The second pits hunters against Iceborne’s new hoofed wyvern Banbaro. The last is a mission to take down or capture the violent Tigrex.
All 14 weapon types confirmed for the expansion can be used as well as new equipment. Among this is the new Clutch Claw slinger tool. New features such as the Raider Ride and View Mode can also be tested in the beta.
It is not required to have the original version of Monster Hunter: World installed to play the demo. This likely means that Capcom aims to bring in players new to the series.
More information on the beta can be viewed on Monster Hunter: World’s official website.
