Strategy
Preparation
Survivability should be a priority when fighting Tigrex for the first time. Stock up on healing items and nullberies before heading out. Do not hesitate to bring max potions and the ingredients to make more as well.
Bring tools like the vitality and temporal mantles to survive fatal blows. Tigrex also tends to do a follow-up attack after it knocks yousomething down. The vigorwasp revival is also useful as it gives you a second wind if you faint during the fight.
Earplugs can reduce or even negate the effects of Tigrex’s roars. The earplugs III charm is your best option for this if you do not want to slot in jewels to activate the skill.
Tigrex
Always be on the move when fighting Tigrex. Most of its attacks can be avoided by dodging to its side. You can also roll directly toward the monster to end up behind it if you are close enough.
Run sideways whenever Tigrex does a charging attack. It will always do the move multiple times in a row before ending with a tail spin. Wait until Tigrex throws out the last move before rushing in to strike.
Tigrex is one of many monsters that tend to do follow-up attacks after knocking you down. Do not get up immediately to avoid getting hit again. Getting stunned makes you vulnerable to Tigrex’s next attack, which will likely be fatal.
Intruders
It is not recommended to take on Tigrex when Radobaan or other troublesome monsters interfere. Tigrex’s mobility makes it very challenging to deal with and having to take on another large monster is very risky. Shoot a dung pod at Tigrex or any intruders to force them to relocate. Resume your hunt when Tigrex is alone.
