Strategy
Preparation
Craft a cool drink using chillshrooms. You can gather these by making frequent trips to area 3 of the Elder’s Recess. Use the cool drinks to avoid taking damage from the heat during your exploration.
Expedition
You need to thoroughly explore the Elder’s Recess to pinpoint the location of the three large monsters that inhabit it. These are Dodogama, Lavasioth and Uragaan. You can skip fighting these monsters if you wish. To count toward the goal, simply allow the cutscene to play for each encounter. Both Dodogama and Uragaan reside north of the campsite, the former being in areas 8 and 9, while the latter can be found in areas 3, 5, and 6. Meanwhile, Lavasioth dwells in the western section, specifically in areas 7, 10, 11, and 12. To make the most out of your expedition, take some time to harvest ore and other materials by checking bonepiles scattered around the area.
Tracking Nergigante
During your expedition, you need to track Nergigante. You will receive a tracking bar to monitor your progress. The hunter will be accompanied by blue scout flies which will mark the target’s tracks as you go along. When the gauge is 3/4 full, you can return to the base to end the assignment.
