Strategy
Preparation
Ideally, you’ll want a fire weapon when fighting against Vaal Hazak. You can hunt down Rathalos to forge one. While optional, you can also use a cleanser booster along with it if you finished the side quests.
Vaal Hazak has a penchant for casting effluvium, a pesky ailment that temporarily cuts your health pool. Before you pursue the monster, be sure to gather a couple of nulberries. If you wish to put an end to its health halving shenanigans, bring miasma gems.
Bring a stash of medicines like mega potions and max potions. To bolster your magic resistance, swing by the canteen and order a Veggie Platter.
Vaal Hazak
When you’re ready to take it on, proceed to area 16 to initiate the assignment.
If you have one in your inventory, drop a cleanser booster nearby before engaging with Vaal Hazak.
When it’s enraged, it will cloak itself in effluvium which deals damage over time. If you don’t have a cleanser booster, be ready to consume a nulberry to instantly remove the ailment.
