Strategy
Preparation
Equipping pieces of the Lumu or Kulu armor sets gives you decent ice resistance against Legiana’s elemental attacks. You can boost ice defense further by eating a veggie platter before heading out.
Legiana’s ice attacks inflict iceblight which causes your stamina to deplete five times the normal rate. Bring nullberies to cure yourself.
Flashpods are useful for forcing Legiana to the ground when it goes airborne. You can then briefly unload on it as it tries to get up.
Stock up on as many healing items as you can. Legiana is a challenging monster to deal with because of its speed and the variety of attacks at its disposal.
Legiana
When fighting Legiana, always stay on the move by strafing to its side. Most of its attacks are only likely to hit if you stand too long in front of it. This includes Legiana’s spinning ice blast, though you will want to keep a good distance away from it as the move covers a wide area. If you are near Legiana when it winds up the attack, dodge toward it to get behind it.
When Legiana goes airborne, shoot out a flashpod to send it crashing down. It will be helpless for a short period, allowing you to stack on some damage before pulling back.
Mount Legiana as often as possible. You can do use the clutch claw or perform jumping attacks from ledges all around Coral Highlands.
Legiana is extremely dangerous when it is enraged. It will move faster and throw out ice attacks more frequently. Wait for Legiana to calm down before going on the offensive again. Do not step on the icicles that linger on the ground from the monster’s ice blasts to avoid getting iceblight.
Intruders
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku and Paolumu may sometimes interrupt your hunt. It is recommended to wait until Legiana moves to another location before engaging it again. Shoot a dung pod at any of the monsters to force them to relocate.
