Seething Bazelgeuse
Seething Bazelgeuse is a special variant of Bazelgeuse found in Elder’s Recess. It is much more dangerous than its regular species, having scales that can reach even higher temperatures before exploding. The scales also have a wider blast radius upon detonation, laying waste to everything around them.

Strategy
Fire Resistance
Equip armor pieces with high fire resistance to reduce damage from Seething Bazelgeuse’ attacks. It is also recommended to have blast defense by slotting blast resistance jewels in your equipment. If you are not too worried about its explosive scales, you can use vitality, defense, or protection jewels instead.
Bring as many healing items and nullberries as you can. You can also bring the vitality or temporal mantles to increase survivability against Seething Bazelgeuse.
Eat a veggie platter for even more elemental resistance before heading out.
Explosive Scales
Seething Bazelgeuse shares the same combat style as the regular species. It will litter the area with explosive scales that limit your movement on the battlefield.
Be especially careful when Seething Bazelgeuse releases blue colored scales. These deal even more damage than regular ones when they explode in addition to having a wider blast radius.
Ranged weapons are effective at safely dealing with Seething Bazelgeuse.
Be Patient
You will need to be extremely patient when waiting for chances to land a hit on Seething Bazelgeuse. Be on the defensive when it is enraged. It will fill the entire area with blue scales while regularly charging at you. Settle for draw attacks during its angered state if you are using slow weapons like the great sword, hammer, or switch axe. This lets you avoid getting clipped by the monster’s massive size too often.
Fight in Open Areas
Seething Bazelgeuse’s blue scales have a large blast radius that makes it very difficult to move around. The monster also tends to chase you into scales planted on the ground that are waiting to explode. Try to fight Bazelgeuse in open areas as much as possible. There is nothing worse than getting stuck in a corner with blue scales blocking your only exit.
Use Shock Traps
Using shock traps immobilizes Seething Bazelgeuse and gives you time to stack a good amount of damage on it. Just be careful of scales that might detonate nearby.
Use Flashpods
You can force Seething Bazelgeuse to the ground by shooting a flashpod when it goes airborne. Be careful, however, as it gets up slightly faster than most monsters. This is also true for when you have knocked it down using mounted attacks.
