How to use Long Swords in Monster Hunter Rise

The Long Sword is one of the fourteen weapon types the player can pick when hunting Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise. The weapon type benefits on rolling more attach chains, good reach and vertical abilities, and increasing Charge Up attacks and Spirit Blade attacks compared to other weapon types.

Silkbind Attack	Silkbind Attack Description
Serene Pose	Serene Pose is a long sword Silkbind Attack which offers the hunter a chance to retaliate when struck by an enemy’s attack. There’s a barrier that forms around the hunter to indicate that the counter can be activated when hit. The hunter needs to draw the weapon beforehand to make use of it. Between the two new attacks, Serene Pose is easier to use.
Soaring Kick	Soaring Kick is another Silkbind Attack that involves the use of a Wirebug. The hunter takes to the skies with the help of a Wirebug to deliver a Plunging Thrust. When it connects, the wielder earns spirit gauge temporarily. Time the button press during the kick to execute a Spirit Helm Breaker at the cost of spirit gauge.
Silkbind Sakura Slash	Can be switched out with Soaring Kick. A technique which consists of a tornado-like fashion and connects with a cleave using a Wirebug. Over time, the hit causes several lacerations which add up as damage. The hunter’s spirit gauge gains a charge.
