List of Switch Skills

Metsu Shoryugeki (Sword and Shield)

Can be switched out with Windmill. A jumping Wirebug attack that uses your shield to uppercut your target. At the beginning of the attack, there is a moment where you can perform a Guard. A well-timed counter can further add to the damage dealt.

Tower Vault (Dual Blades)

Can be switched out with Piercing Bind. A technique which propels a Wirebug taking you along with it. The skill does no damage but grants aerial movement even while the weapon is unsheathed.

Silkbind Sakura Slash (Long Sword)

Can be switched out with Soaring Kick. A technique which consists of a tornado-like fashion and connects with a cleave using a Wirebug. Over time, the hit causes several lacerations which add up as damage. The hunter’s spirit gauge gains a charge.

Adamant Charged Slash (Great Sword)

Can be switched out with Hunting Edge. A technique using a Wirebug to dash forward, and deliver a Strong Charged Slash. Also allows you to withstand knockdown attacks by hardening your body as you dash forth.

Dash Breaker (Hammer)

Can be switched out with Silkbind Spinning Bludgeon. A technique that involves the use of a wirebug to send the hunter charging into the monster. Incoming attacks won’t do any damage while the hunter is dashing.

Spiral Thrust (Lance)

Can be switched out with Anchor Rage. A technique that consists of reposition and retaliates with an attack. Makes use of a shield to parry and then deploys the Wirebug to deliver a thrust. Can be used as a distraction.

Ground Splitter (Gunlance)

Can be switched out with Hail Cutter. A technique that deploys the Wirebug causing the hunter to launch forward and unleash a energetic slash going upward. When the hunter scrapes the weapon, it amplifies the damage of shells, Wyrmstake Shots, and Wyvern’s Fire.

Soaring Wyvern Blade (Switch Axe)

Can be switched out with Invincible Gambit. A technique that deploys a Wirebug while executing a slash, the hunter finishes off the attack with a Forward Slash while airborne. If the attack connects, the weapon’s activation gauge completely charges and unleashes a massive explosion.

Axe Hopper (Charge Blade)

Can be switched out with Counter Peak Performance. Slam the axe overhead, using recoil and Ironsilk to propel you up into the air. While going upwards, you can unleash a powerful Element Discharge.

Diving Wyvern (Insect Glaive)

Calls back your Kinsect while dodging. As it returns, it will perform spinning attacks that scatter healing extracts. Its stamina will fully recover once it gets back to its master.

Bead of Resonance (Hunting Horn)

Can be switched out with Earthshaker. A technique which involves planting a wirebug cocoon on the floor. After the hunter follows up with a melody, the cocoon also releases the same effect and generates a Sonic Wave which hits surrounding monsters.

Aerial Aim (Bow)

Can be switched out with Focus Shot. A technique that involves shooting arrows while suspended on a Wirebug. The hunter can also employ a close-ranged attack below him..

Fanning Maneuver (Light Bowgun)

Can be switched out with Fanning Vault. A technique that combines centrifugal force and the Wirebug to flank to one of two directions. Grants attack buff for a period of time and allows the hunter to shoot while moving.

Counter Charger (Heavy Bowgun)

Can be switched out with Counter Shot. A technique that enables the hunter to execute parry through Wirebugs. When parrying, the hunter deflects the attack and takes no damage from the monster. In addition, the charged shot suffers less cooldown.
