Monster Hunter: World Iceborne - Monster Arena Guide

What is the Monster Arena?

The monster arena pits you against one or more monsters previously encountered in optional quests. Unlike hunting monsters in the wild, those fought in the arena must be slayed to clear the quest. Special rewards can be obtained for taking out all target monsters within specific time limits. You will be rated based on your time, increasing your chances of getting more rewards. Most of these rewards are used to unique weapons and armor, including those exclusive to events

Optional Quest List

You will need to choose from a predetermined set of equipment and items for each arena quest. This turns each arena stage into a test of pure skill as a hunter, as you won’t have any of your favored abilities.

There are two types of arena quests: arena and challenge. The two types do not differ much from each other, save from the fact that challenge quests require you to fight unlikely pairings of monsters. Elder dragons also only appear in challenge quests.

Monster Arena Tips

When aiming for high completion ranks, it is generally recommended to do the missions in pairs. While the monster’s health will be higher, doubling the damage-per-second will more than make up for it. It is possible to complete arena quests solo at a high rank, though it is significantly more difficult.
