Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age / FFXII: TZA - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Monk

The Monk class, representing the zodiac Virgo, can deal damage without weapons or with its primary weapon of poles. They utilize light armor and prioritize on speed to deal damage. That said, their main asset is their ability to cast White Magic. They are heavily reliant on the spell Esunaga to remove status ailments.

The Monk class is one of the few classes whose HP can hit a 3000 total. However, this means that the monk will have to sacrifice their ability to call upon Espers to prioritize HP. A good build for a monk is to focus on their White Magick and Swiftness. Do this while equipping the Regenerative Morion or Brave Suit to compensate for lack of HP.

Augments

Because they have the highest number of HP augments, the monk has the largest possible HP pool in the game. However, the player does not necessarily have to focus all their license points on HP. Another way to balance a monk’s skills is to utilize their Swiftness along with White Magick for a quick healer or Battle Lore to increase their damage output.
