Hydro
Upon reaching the entrance of Pharos, a large Hydro will block your way. You must defeat the creature in order to enter Pharos.

Hydro can be a difficult opponent due to its ability to inflict Fear. When it does so, your allies’ MP will slowly deplete. This makes it harder to use Magick and Espers as the fight goes on. While battling, the Hydro tends to pick off enemies one at a time. Before approaching it, equip a character with Bait and a Gun in order to lure the Hydro.Have all party members focus on using Healing Magick when it is distracted, as it is an Undead creature.
Battle Strategy
Maintain a supply of Phoenix Downs when battling the Hydro. Open the battle with Dispel to remove its Haste before using your Quickening against it. Because of its Dark attribute, you can equip someone with a Holy weapon such as the Holy Lance or the Holy Rod. Another strategy is to use Reflect and cast Curaja on your party members. The healing magick will then deal heavy damage to the undead creature.
Since the Hydro is also susceptible to Slow and Oil, use the Nihopalaoa + Remedy combo to immediately inflict status ailments. Oil makes it vulnerable to Firaga and Fire affinity weapons.
