A character who personifies the term “Gentleman Thief.” Balthier is a freelancer who only targets people on whom he holds a grudge. A skilled mechanic, he doesn’t belong to any nation. He travels all over Ivalice on an airship named The Strahl. Alongside him is his viera partner Fran. A flirty character with dry wit, he drinks and confronts villains. Roles
Balthier is the fastest character in the game. From his appearance, one might think that Balthier could use guns well. However, his CT takes a lot longer than Basch. You can take advantage of his speed by taking a job that can acquire a lot of action shortenings.
Since his effectiveness in magick jobs is very low, he should focus on physical jobs instead. Depending on the licenses you choose, it is possible to get up to three action time reductions as a Monk, making it a job perfect for Balthier.
