Famfrit, the Darkening Cloud represents the zodiac sign of Aquarius. Nobody however knows where this esper originally came from. Since then, he formed a pact with Dr. Cid and became his Esper. While fighting Dr. Cid on Pharos, he eventually summons Famfrit who deals heavy water damage. However, upon defeating Dr. Cid, the esper surrenders his glyph to you. Thus, he allows you to summon him after paying a certain amount of license points.
Battle Strategy
While battling Famfrit, Dr. Cid should have his HP at 50%. After that, he’ll summon Famfrit. While fighting, the esper will use his Briny Cannonade skill and sometimes Waterja. In doing so, he also has a chance of inflicting Silence every 3 attacks. The moment Dr. Cid summons him, Dr. Cid becomes immune to damage and will focus on casting support spells on the esper.
As a Water-type Esper, it is vulnerable to Oil ailment. Equip any of your party members with Gungnir or Fomalhaut with Wyrmfire Shot. If none of the mentioned weapons are available, any weapon with an affinity to fire will do. While using weapons with Fire affinity, you can also summon Belias against it as he counters his element. While battling, cast Dispel on Famfrit to keep Dr. Cid busy from attacking members of your party. Also, cast Shell to reduce any incoming damage from the esper for better sustainability.
