Belias, the Gigas represents the zodiac sign Aries. He is one of the first Espers the player comes across. He is also an Esper you encounter in the story line. He first appears in the Tomb of Raithwall. While he is a powerful Esper in the early part of the game, but is rather weak against Water attacks.
Battle Strategy
To defeat Belias, use water attacks, as they deal double damage. However, watch out for any attacks that inflict the Oil condition and immediately use a handkerchief when hit. Also, if you have a Gunner, make sure you have Aqua Shots and Water Motes. This should help you keep up consistent damage against the boss. Also, make sure to cast Shell and Protect to defend, not only from his incoming physical damage, but fire damage as well.
