Walkthrough
Nalbina Fortress
1. Finish the opening to start off as Rex.
Welcome to the Prologue! Here, you’ll be using Rex to learn the game’s controls. This includes how to apply skills, use items, and attack. Basch will give you the tutorials.
As you start, you’ll fight Imperial Soldiers. Take them down before moving onto the next battle.
2. Air Cutter Remora Boss Battle
Open the door to the fortress. Here, head through another door that leads to the next battle. One of the battleships, the Aircutter Remora, will attack you. The Aircutter Remora will use Remora Bomb. You won’t be fighting alone, so taking it down shouldn’t be hard.
Once it is brought down to half-life, Basch will finish the battleship off with a Quickening.
3. Head up the stairs
After finishing off the Remora, head up the stairs. There’s a save point at the top of the stairs that looks like a large blue crystal. After you finish saving, head out to trigger a cutscene.
4. Battling the Imperial Swordsmen
Your friends will head on without you. This leaves Rex alone to fight three Imperial Swordsmen. Kite them around and focus them down one at a time. This strategy should allow you to defeat the swordsmen without any problems.
5. After all this, you’ll take control of Vaan.
Royal City of Rabanastre
1. Battle the rats.
You’ll find yourself in a cellar after taking control of Vaan. You’ll be taking rats for the first battle. After that, head into the royal city of Rabanastre.
2. Talk to Penelo
You’ll get the World Map after talking to Penelo. This will allow you a much easier time navigating.
3. Miguelo’s Sundries
Miguelo will tell you to find your younger brother at the bar. The bar’s right in front of the item shop. There, you’ll find Tomaji. He will teach you how the License Board works and about Clan Reports. The Clan Report is a way of keeping track of your progress and the License Board is for some skills.
After that, Tomaji will give you the Orrachea Bracelet. This will boost your HP by 25. After that, he’ll show you how the Hunt System works. You’ll have Marks to deal with, the first of which being a Rogue Tomato.
4. Head to the East Gate.
Head out once finished. The city has three gates, but only the East one will be open. Before you leave, talk to the merchant who will ask you to deliver something for him. Take the quest and then talk to the Banga guard. He’ll let you pass. After exiting, you’ll find a save point and the merchant you have to give the items to. With that, head into Dalmasca Estersand.
Dalmasca Estersand
1. Look for the Rogue Tomato
The Rogue Tomato should be running around in Dalmasca Estersand. As you venture through the area, you can either grind for experience, or you can use Vaan’s Steal command to grab some items. Once you find the Rogue Tomato, get ready to engage.
