Zalera, the Death Seraph represents the zodiac sign of Gemini. However unlike some of the Espers, he is not someone one obtains while playing through the story. To obtain this esper, head to Barheim Passage. When approaching the passageway, some of the NPCs will note that they hear a “woman’s wails” down in the tunnels. This foreshadows Zalera’s presence. But before entering Barheim Passage, you must have the Barheim Key.
Once inside, head north. After that, turn left in the section before the save point. Heading to northwest passage, you’ll reach a long rail known as Zeviah Span. At the end of No.7 Terminus’ path, the player will fight the esper and his Dead Bones allies.
Battle Strategy
In order to defeat Zalera, one only has five minutes. Otherwise, the battle will reset. Accompanying Zalera, there will be several Dead Bones to assist it. Because of this, it’ll be hard to inflict damage on it or almost impossible. Cast Reflectga on your party before using Curaja to deal damage quickly. As it is of Undead attribute, White Magick can deal heavy damage against it. Also, to quicken the battle, use Dispel to remove its Shell, Protect, and Reflect.
