Battle Strategy

He dwells in the hidden passage, the Throne of the Veiled Gods.

Think of the fight as the exact opposite in comparison to the strategy against Exodus. Apart from a high level requirement, he will also perform Seal Magick which limits you to relying on items for healing. Thus before you challenge Zeromus, be mindful of your character’s gears. Once you are decided, stockpile on Hi-Potions and X-Potions beforehand. He will also cast Slow, thus some gears such as Power Armlet are worth investing on.

Considering this boss alone, has several Magick tricks up its sleeve, which include: Hastega, Slowga, Stop, Gravity, Piercing Graviga, and Bio. One of the more alarming attacks he carries is Gravity which roughly deals 25% points of damage, while a more devastating attack is Piercing Graviga which deals double than the former and discourages use of Bubble. In case you managed to have licenses on one of your license boards, it helps to consume one during the start of the match.

He employs combo chains frequently which can be problematic once damage builds up. To make matters worse, he is accompanied by Dark Lords. A recommended tactic is to take these out with a fierce attack to prevent them from causing further nuisance. Since the focus of this battle is to defeat Zeromus, dispatch of the spawned Dark Lords as fast as you can, then immediately shift your attention to Zeromus.

One his health drops to 50%, he will cast Great Barrier. With Mist Charges, employing Four Quickening Chains should allow you to emerge victorious handily. If you could afford it, call upon any Espers near the end to finish it off.
