Batman Item Builds
Core Items
These items are necessary in order to play Batman optimally. Only diverge from a core item if you are a very experienced player and/or you have a very good reason for doing so
Batman lingers between being an assassin and a warrior. As such, he can benefit from boosts to both his tankiness and ability to chase and kill opponents. Frost Cape is an essential item for him, providing extra armor and HP as well as a slow to assist in chasing enemies.
Spear of Longinus both gives Batman a means to tank enemies’ attacks as well as some heavy auto attacks. This item shreds an opponent’s armor with each attack. It additionally provides health and cooldown reduction, making it a solid all-around pick for the dark knight.
Rankbreaker |
Rankbreaker increases Batman’s movement speed while he is outside combat, making him more effective at roaming and chasing. He will additionally be able to more quickly deliver enemies to their deaths through the armor penetration it provides. |
Optional Items
Offensive Item Choices
Fenrir’s Tooth makes Batman more capable of swiftly killing low health enemies due to its passive and large attack damage bonus. This and batarang can lead to insane amounts of burst damage that squishier heroes will have no chance of escaping from.
Muramasa is a nice late game pick that will help the wielder deal with armor stacking tanks or warriors. This is particularly important to Batman, as he already has some problems with damage fall off later in the game.
Omni Arms doubles the damage of an attack after using a skill, making it perfect for following up Batarang. The stats that the item provides are very beneficial as well, giving Batman a lot of offensive strength along with a bit of survivability. Keep in mind that the item’s passive does not stack with Frost Cape and should therefore be only taken as an alternate. |
Defensive Items Choices
Medallion of Troy is an item suited for countering mages. This is done through a large amount of magic defense along with a thick shield that absorbs further magic damage. The item additionally offers some health and cooldown reduction as well, keeping it from being a completely niche choice.
Ancestral Glory protects its wielder by reviving them once every few minutes. The insurance can allow Batman to play more aggressively and make more daring moves without as much risk to his team.
Hyoga’s Edge provides some HP and defends against both physical and magical attacks. It also grants you bonus movement speed and slows your target when you attack them. This will make escape nearly impossible for anyone you choose to chase.
Hercules’ Madness is a great way to go all-in in fights. It provides some attack and defensive stats, but shines more with its passive. The unique passive also increases your attack damage and gives you a shield that can absorb damage. |
Boots Upgrades
Gilded Greaves offers Batman some resistance, which protects from control effects. This will prevent getting locked down ensure that Batman can escape sticky situations.
Hermes’ Select is also an option for Batman to roam more efficiently. The out of combat movement speed will make him very efficient at moving in between the lanes. |
Sample Item Builds

Soulreaver | Hermes’ Select | Rankbreaker | Frost Cape | Spear of Longinus | Fenrir’s Tooth |

This is a very high-risk, high-reward build as it lacks much in the way of defensive strength. The only things that will protect Batman when engaged are the defensive bonuses in Frost Cape and Spear of Longinus. What he lacks in defense, however, he will more than make up for with attack. He will be able to quickly remove squishy heroes from the map with a quick combo, tankier foes even having trouble dealing with the damage he can put out here. Each item offers something when it comes to offensive power, even the primarily defensive Frost Cape giving him a bit of damage and chasing power. Your method of assault will be to rush in, do as much damage as you can right away, and then rush out to safety.
Here we put Batman in the lane instead of lurking around the jungle. He won’t have the same early game impact as with some builds but will be able to keep up some momentum later in the game than when jungling. We mix survivability and damage here so that the Dark Knight can compliment his team by chasing down enemies and assist with bursting them down. Items like Rankbreaker and Spear of Longinus will help him rip through enemies, allowing him to bypass their defenses and getting near true damage to squishier heroes. He will have quite thick skin as well, with Gaia’s Standard protecting him from enemy magic while Mail of Pain and Frost Cape cover him with regard to physical damage.

What is the best build fits for batman?
Change Leviathan with Soulreaver in the “Durable Jungler” build, and you have yourself an even higher burst dmg while still relatively tanky
Leviathan is bad on Batman as he will come out of stealth mode if he accidentally burns a jungle creep or minion. The recommended Soulreaver build is much better.
