Maloch Item Builds

Arena of Valor Maloch

Item Guide

Core Items

These items are necessary in order to play Maloch optimally. Only diverge from a core item if you are a very experienced player or you have a very good reason for doing so.

Arena of Valor Frost Cape
Frost Cape
Both the amount that Maloch uses his abilities and the fact that they are free to use make Frost Cape a wonderful item for the warrior. When his ultimate isn’t available, Maloch can use the slow this item provides to better stick to foes. Lacking any natural control, this can be invaluable to Maloch.
Arena of Valor Fenrir's Tooth
Fenrir’s Tooth
Offering the most attack damage in one place, Fenrir’s Tooth is an obvious choice when wanting to enhance the demon’s lethality. If the attack damage weren’t enough, the item boasts a powerful passive effect which will help Maloch execute enemies who fall down into low health ranges.

Optional Items

Arena of Valor Mantle of Ra
Mantle of Ra
Mantle of Ra is a great early item for Maloch. The attack damage and armor it offers are both very important to the warrior, he wanting to both survive fights and deal out his own considerable amounts of damage.
Arena of Valor Shield of the Lost
Shield of the Lost
SMaloch likes to get right into the center of enemy teams and cause havoc from within. Shield of the Lost helps him do this by slowing the attack speeds of any nearby enemies. The armor and health that it provides will additionally make the demon tanky enough to survive whatever counter attack the enemies try.
Arena of Valor Medallion of Troy
Medallion of Troy
Medallion of Troy protects from magic users both through a heavy amount of magic resist and a damage blocking shield. It additionally offers a large amount of health as well as some cooldown reduction This is extremely valuable to Maloch, as his abilities do not cost any resources and thereby are only restricted in use by their cooldowns.
Arena of Valor Hyoga's Edge
Hyoga’s Edge
Aside from his ultimate, Maloch doesn’t have much with which to stay close to his enemies. Hyoga’s Edge completely fixes this, causing his attacks to slow their target and provide Maloch a speed boost. The stats it provides is nothing to sneeze at either, giving an impressive amount of health, armor, and magic resistance.
Arena of Valor Amulet of Longevity
Amulet of Longevity
Maloch needs survivability and Amulet of Longevity provides it in spades. Its passive drastically raises the wearer’s health, and that’s before even mentioning its defensive stats. Given that Maloch’s heal is based on his health, buffing his overall HP will increase the amount healed as a result. Amulet of Longevity amplifies this further with its overall buff to heals and regeneration effects.

Sample Item Builds

We build Maloch here as a damage-dealing off tank who dives into the enemy team to do as much damage as he can. Shield of the Lost, Frost Cape, and Medallion of Troy will keep him up and fighting despite enemy counter fire while Mantle of Ra and Fenrir’s Tooth will give him the muscle he needs to really punish any who get too close to him.

Here we take Maloch and turn him into a pure damage sponge, having him rely completely on his abilities’ base damage when attacking foes. The demon will be able to slow enemies in tremendous amouunts with the combination of Hyoga’s Edge and Frost Cape, helping him stick close despite his low attack speed. After that we put all of our focus on survivability with Shield of the Lost, Medallion of Troy, and Amulet of Longevity standing as huge sources of defensive stats.

This build goes in the opposite direction of the former, doubling down on Maloch’s damage. He still maintains some sources of health and defense, Hyoga’s Edge and Mercules’ Madness the most notable examples. However, the demon will be doing a lot of battling than tanking when taking this build, cleaving off large swaths of the enemies’ health with each swing of his might sword. Following up with a normal attack will now add to his burst as well, Omni Arms sacrificing the utility of Frost Cape for a significant upgrade in damage.

    3-Odin’s Will
    4-Gaia’s Standard
    5-Shield of the lost
    6-Hercules’ Madness

*Note it is best to play passively early game, late game is when this build is most effective.

  3. BUILD NAME – DEMON KING
    1-MANTLE OF RA
    2-GAIA’S STANDARD
    3-FROST CAPE
    4-MEDALLION OF TROY
    5-MAIL OF PAIN
    6-HERCULES MADNESS
Arcana- 100 atk speed and 100 armor piercing
    Talent- FLICKER

  4. Here’s a build I got from 2 friends who both happen to use it, haha. Gilded Greaves, Aegis, Frost Cape, Medallion of Troy, Fenrir’s Tooth, with the last item being chosen between Mail of Pain, Blade of Eternity, and Shield of the Lost. The Aegis has a really good passive with Maloch’s Ultimate. The build provides 40% CDR, and nice utility with Frost Cape and Aegis’s passive. He’s tanky enough from Medallion, Aegis, and Cape, and he still has some damage from Fenrirs.

  5. I have an interesting build for Maloch, it’s quite weird but can be effective if used right, this build is the jack of all trades, a rather interesting bruiser. Mantle of Ra, Gilded Greaves, Hercule’s Madness, Frost Cape, Rankbreaker,Fenrir’s Tooth. This build sadly doesn’t have any extra hp except from Frost Cape, which is why I decide to put Hercule’s Madness first
*note: If your team doesn’t have tank beside you, don’t use this build, he will hit quite hard but he’s not effective as the team punching bag also don’t forget to have max arcana build, the one I’m using is focused on attack damage and damage pierce

    • Why do you take Rankbreaker? If looking for armor pierce, Muramasa is usually better late game, and Maloch deals true damage with his empowered cleave.

      • For the damage pierce, and movement speed. I feel that Maloch is tad too slow for my taste, that 10% movement would be quite helpful for me running around in the late game, but I will try substituting rankbreaker for muramasa and see how much it affect the overall set quality

  6. I really like your bruiser build, even though id rather use aegis than shield of the lost. 20%cdr is just too good for him, and being attacked by ranged fighter he gets some spped buff and they get slowed, helping to escape or hunt down.

    • Not really; building critical items will take Maloch away from other items that he benefits more from. His main source of damage is his cleave, which can’t crit.

  7. My build for maloch is named Conquest, it starts with Mantle of Ra, Gilded Greaves, Shield of the Lost, Medallion of Troy, Crimson Banner, then Fenrirs tooth. Crimson Banner should be a Core item because of its ability to keep Maloch in crucial teamfights. He has no need for mana, so giving him a item to heal off makes him stronger

    • Crimson banner is good, but maloch is already an endurance fighter, healing a lot with his cleave mark.I dont like to depend so much on the heals because the enemy could counterbuild really well, shutting down my skill efects and item efects.

  8. I like having max CDR and fenrirs tooth for damage my build is gilded greaves, aegis, frost cape, medalliono of Troy, fenrirs tooth and amulet of longevity. It works really well and I think it should be on this list

  9. Hello, I build Maloch with cooldown and works very well so far. tanky arcanas and build only fennir tooth
very dificult to kill with the hability 2 and 1 2 and 1

  10. Hello!!! Congratulations on the brilliant sait !!!! Why do not you suggest a critical item for Maloch, like Claves? Giving a critic with the enchanted sword would not be an absurdly large damage (I say compared to the other damage item on the list)?
