Overview
Florentino is an assassin who excels at darting around the battlefield and smothering opponents with swift and powerful strikes. He is an excellent duelist who can poke enemies with his darts and lunges until he rushes in for the final blow. As with most assassins, however, he tends to be a double-edged sword. He either snowballs and wrecks the enemy team or gets focused often and left in the dust.
Strengths
- Excellent Duelist – Florentino shines when facing enemies 1-on-1. This is due to his kit’s focus on single target damage. While on the offensive, good Florentino users can use his Blossom to flit about the battlefield and stab enemies for maximum damage.
- Good Single-Target Takedowns – Hitting your intended target with Blossom usually spells their doom. Apart from the initial stun, Florentino gets a free Lunge which he can restore whenever he steps on a flower. This can quickly destroy opponents when paired with his Triple Threat.
- Not Mana Reliant – Florentino uses energy as a resource for his abilities. This allows him to forego mana items and focus more on cooldown-reduction to improve his damage output.
Weaknesses
- High Skill Curve – Florentino’s kit is difficult to master, especially for beginners. This is in part due to his abilities’ mechanics which require players to know when to engage or when to take out priority targets. However, once players manage to get more comfortable with Florentino’s kit, they will ready for flashy executions.
- Susceptible to Focus Fire – As with most assassins, Florentino also suffers when focused by the enemy team. He is susceptible to being locked down with crowd control, especially when his Ultimate is on cooldown.
Hero Basic Strategy
Laning Strategy
- Take note who you’re up against in the lane. If your opponent is another melee hero, you can opt to throw down and pelt them with your Blossom to whittle down their HP.
- Using Blossom allows you a free Lunge for your normal attack. Stepping on flowers also grants you free a Lunge. Take note of this once you tag your opponent with Blossom to maximize your damage.
- When you’re up against a hero with good control abilities, use Gentleman’s Duel to avoid their abilities. This also makes your marked target lose a bit of defensive and offensive stats while battling you, giving you more advantages to take them out.
- If you’re solo-laning, take note when you’re crossing the river. When you see your opponent acting suspicious, chances are their jungler is around the vicinity waiting to jump on you.
Leveling Progression
- Leveling up Blossom is a good way to go, especially when you’re solo-laning. The stun and the additional Lunges allow you to deal good damage to your enemy.
- You can also use Triple Threat to increase your damage output whenever you go dueling with your lane opponent. This comes at the expense of the stun from Blossom.
- Use Gentleman’s Duel on high priority targets. Being an assassin, your goal is to take out the opposing team’s carries as quickly as possible, and Florentino can do that in earnest. It is best to eliminate the enemy carry before a team fight to tip the battle in your team’s favor.
Battle Strategy
- Solo Fights: Blossom + Triple Threat has the potential to deal massive damage, but you need to determine whether to go all-out or use the free Lunges in bursts. For example, if you’re against a single enemy, it’s best to tag the opponent with your Lunge attacks and Triple Threat to deal the most damage.
- Team Fights: During team fights, sometimes it is best to use Blossom to stun a high-threat target, then use the flowers to take down the squishier targets or set up your teammates with your Triple Threat attack’s knock up.
- Escaping the Battle: Though it is not the optimal way to use Gentleman’s Duel, you can use it to get out of tight situations. Try to target the enemy hero with the most crowd control abilities to ensure you won’t get hit with stuns or slows while they’re marked with your Ultimate. Use this opportunity to get away as fast as you can.
Abilities
Shuffle – Passive – When Florentino exits combat, his next normal attack becomes Lunge, dealing an additional 80 (+8 every level)(+1.25 bonus AD)physical damage and reducing enemy’s movement speed by 70% for 0.5% seconds. Florentino’s next attack within a short period of time also deals an additional 20% damage. If Lunge hits an enemy hero, he heals himself for 85(+7 every level)(+1.00 bonus AD)HP. After Lunge, Shuffle enables Florentino to move for a short distance while being immune to control effects, and his movement speed is increased by 50% for 0.5 seconds afterwards. |
- Make it a point to engage your opponent with a Lunge. This lets him deal a good amount of damage while also healing himself a bit. The self-heal is important in laning, since it allows him to rack up more experience and level up faster.
Blossom – Florentino tosses a dart that deals 280/320/360/400/440/480 (+1.20 bonus AD)physical damage to the first target it hits and stuns the target for 0.75 seconds. 3 flowers blossom next to the target for 5 seconds. If Florentino touches any of the flowers, his energy is restored by 100 and his next normal attack becomes Lunge. Cooldown for Triple Threat is also reset. |
- Blossom is essential for Florentino’s damage output, since it makes his normal attacks Lunge each time he touches one of the flowers. It also allows him to deal massive amounts of damage when he pairs the Lunge with Triple Threat.
Triple Threat – Florentino attacks the target 3 times, each strike dealing true damage equal to 4 (+0.014 bonus AD) % of target’s max HP. Shuffle is triggered at the end of the attacks. If Triple Threat hits an enemy hero, the cooldown of Blossom is reduced by 1 second.
1st Attack: Deals 300 physical damage. 2nd Attack: Deals 300 physical damage and knocks the enemy into the air for 0.75 seconds.
3rd Attack: A two-strike attack the deals 250 physical damage each.
|
- Triple Threat grants Florentino a massive damage boost whenever he uses it. The true damage allows him to burst down carries, so long as he hits them with all his empowered attacks.
- Use Triple Threat in conjunction with Blossom to ensure a Lunge-powered normal attack + Triple Threat combo against targets to maximize your damage.
- Once active, you can pulse Triple Threat’s attacks, especially the 2nd strike, in order to save yourself from situations when you need to knock up your opponent.
Gentleman’s Duel – Florentino charges for a brief period before dashing forward, starting a duel with the first enemy he encounters for 5 seconds, during which the target’s armor is reduced by 15% and his damage dealt is increased by 20%. He is immune from control effects from the targets that are not in a duel, and takes 50% less damage from those targets.
If the target dies during the duel, Florentino gains 20 attack damage for the rest of the match. This buff stacks up to 10 times.
|
- Use Gentleman’s Duel on high priority targets so that you gain immunity from his or her teammates’ crowd control abilities.
- Remember that whenever your target dies while marked, you permanently gain 20 AD. As such it is best to use it whenever an enemy hero is about to die.
How to Counter Florentino
- Avoid being near the flowers whenever Florentino uses Blossom. This way, he won’t be able to deal higher damage to you.
- If Florentino is your lane opponent, use the minions as a shield against his Blossom in order to avoid being stunned.
- Do your best to shut down Florentino with crowd control before he can use Gentleman’s Duel. It is usually best to team up and beat him down.
- If you get tagged with Gentleman’s Duel and you’re the carry, it is best to draw back and run to the safety of your towers. But if you have good control effects such as a stun, do you best to pin him down first, if you can.

Hero Arcana
- Florentino can use an offense-heavy Arcana set similar to manaless Assassins. This means he can work with Onslaught, Assassin, and Skewer.
- He can also use defensive Arcana like Indomitable, Undying, and Crusader. However, this will dampen his damage output a bit.
Hero Counters
Tank
Just like most Assassins, tanks are your primary weakness thanks to their high health and crowd control. Avoid fighting with them unless they have very low HP or your team is moving together to gank.
Warrior
A bit more manageable than tanks, Florentino does well against warriors, but struggles against warriors with good control abilities. Do your best to use your Blossom for Lunge-powered normal attacks and pair it with Triple Threat. When in a pinch, use Gentleman’s Duel to increase your chances of defeating enemy Warrior heroes.
Assassin
A duel between Florentino and another assassin hero usually boils down to skills and hero mastery. Use Florentino’s combo and try to avoid getting hit by the enemy assassin’s abilities if you can. Gentleman’s Duel is also extremely useful when dueling, since it grants him offensive bonuses while debuffing his opponent.
Mage
Florentino does well against Mages, provided he gets up close and personal to deal his burst against them first. Mages are best dealt with you have avoided their abilities. Otherwise, it is best to either wait for your teammates to stun them or catch them off-guard with an ambush.
Marksman
Florentino does well against Marksmen, especially when he gets close to them. However, take note if the enemy marksman has upped his or her damage output. You also need to make a point to stick close to the enemy marksman and kill him or her as quickly as possible.
Support
Unless they’re low on HP, it is best not to mess with Supports. They usually pack a kit that either controls Florentino or buffs their carries who in turn can take you out. It is best to eliminate their carry first, then strike the Support down after.
