Overview
Veres is an assassin who specializes in dealing as much damage to targets as possible. She excels at chipping away life and finishing enemy heroes off with her abilities. In the right hands, she is real threat who can decimate the opposing team handily.
Strengths
- Tons of Damage – Veres’ kit specializes in dealing as much damage as possible, be it to a single target or multiple foes. This results in a high amount burst damage and some surprising utility each time she hits enemies with her abilities.
- Great Finisher – Veres is especially deadly when taking out low HP heroes thanks to Venom. In team fights, she can clean up stragglers easily.
Weaknesses
- Skillshots – All of Veres’ abilities are skill shots. This means that players need to familiarize themselves with the skills’ ranges and timings in order to be effective. Her Bloody Kiss passive, in particular, needs a bit of mastery in order to make it a strong tool against enemies because of its unique range.
- Squishy – As with most assassins, Veres tends to be on the squishy side. She is especially vulnerable when she gets focused first by the opposing team.
Hero Basic Strategy
Laning Strategy
- Make sure to hit your opponent with your abilities early and often. Whenever Bloody Kiss is about to proc, try to clip your opponent and maintain pressure. Veres excels when her target’s HP is below 50%, so it is best to ask your jungler or mid-lane for ganks.
- Be mindful of ganks from the opposing jungler and mid-lane. If you’re opting to go for a safer laning phase, remember to hit the minion wave with your Bloody Kiss whenever it becomes active to ensure your lane doesn’t get pushed too hard.
- Try to check the enemy team’s jungle once in a while. This way, you can provide information to your team or even snag a few solo kills.
Leveling Progression
- Level up Bloody Fangs first so that you have access to a reliable stun. Pelt your opponent whenever you find an opening and deal damage accordingly. Serpent’s Embrace is a good ability to help you chase down and stick to your target.
- Finally, level up Venom any chance you get. This is your finishing move, so use it on low HP heroes to eliminate them quickly.
Battle Strategy
- Solo Fights: Veres excels when she is first to strike with her abilities. So as a rule, make sure to get the first hit early and often. This will give you stacks of Bloody Kiss to further tick the solo fight into your favor, thanks to the bonus lifesteal it grants. Bloody Fangs and Serpent’s Embrace have good damage and excellent utility through their stuns and slows. Vevom is your ace; use it when your enemy’s health is low to ensure you get the kill.
- Team Fights: As much as possible keep away from the team fight if you see that the opposing team has a lot of Control abilities. Make sure to target the low HP carries and enter the fray once your team gives you an opening, whether it’s a nice engage or if they picked off one straggler. Use Venom on heroes with low HP to quickly dispatch them.
- Escaping the Battle: Try to tag your opponents with Bloody Fangs and Serpent’s Embrace to stun and slow them. If your Bloody Kiss becomes active, do your best to hit most of your assailants with it so that you can get away easier.
Abilities
Bloody Kiss – Passive – Veres gains a stack of Serpent’s Blood that lasts 10 seconds when her normal attacks land on an enemy. Bloody Kiss is triggered at 4 stacks, dealing 320.00 (+1.5 AD) physical damage to enemies nearby and gaining 12% Life Steal if an enemy hero is hit (the lower her HP is, the higher this % is, up to 120%). Bloody Kiss also reduces cooldowns of Bloody Fangs and Serpent’s Embrace by 1 second, and Venom by 2 seconds. When Bloody Kiss is active, Veres can move at 35% increased movement speed and is immune to control effects. |
- This passive enables Veres to throw down against both single targets and groups. Bloody Kiss’ buffs make Veres harder to kill. This allows her to survive just enough to either eliminate the threat or get out of dodge.
Bloody Fangs – Veres’ snake splits into 2 parts, which dash forward, attacking enemies in their way and deal 130/180/230/280/330/380 (+0.6 AD) physical damage. The targets’ movement speed is reduced by 50% for 2 seconds. Enemies hit by both snakes are stunned for 1 second, and each enemy hero hit grants Veres 1 stack of Serpent’s Blood |
- Veres’ go-to skill for most of the game, second only to Venom. Bloody Fangs gives her a fantastic harassing tool and doubles as a lifesaver at times. This is thanks in large part to its slow and stun mechanic. Mastering how and when to use Bloody Fangs is essential to mastering Veres.
Serpent’s Embrace – Veres tosses her snake, pushing away nearby enemies and pulling in distant enemies. Enemies are stunned briefly and take 85/120/155/190/225/260 (+0.4 AD) physical damage. Their movement speed is also reduced by 50% for 2 seconds. Each enemy hero hit grants Veres 1 stack of Serpent’s Blood. |
- Serpent’s Embrace is a good sticking ability. Make sure to land this on high priority targets to ensure they cannot escape without losing large chunks of HP.
Venom – Veres rushes to the target location and commands her snake to split and surface, dealing 300/450/600(+12/16/20% (+4 every skill level)(+1% of AD) of the target’s lost HP)true damage to enemies in a frontal cone area. If an enemy hero is hit, Veres enters Enrage, increasing her attack speed by 30/45/60%, attack damage by 150/250/350, and armor pierce by 15/25/35%,for 4 seconds (10 seconds if an enemy hero is killed). If Bloody Kiss is triggered, each enemy hero hit increases Enrage duration by 2 seconds. |
- Veres’ Venom is an excellent finishing move. The HP scaling and the true damage to boot give her immense killing power, especially against low-HP heroes. After using this and eliminating a target, the buffs it gives her makes her even more formidable. When used in the right situation, say a team fight, she can clean up the opposing team easily.
How to Counter Veres
- When fighting against Veres, avoid getting hit by Bloody Kiss by going inside or outside the circular area. Doing so will prevent her from getting the buffs and taking over the fight. You also have to dodge her Bloody Fangs and Serpent’s Embrace by constantly moving around the lane.
- Veres is vulnerable when she gets stunned or silenced. Make sure to take her out first before any team fight ensues so that the opposing team won’t have someone to close out a clash.

Hero Arcana
- Onslaught grants Veres additional potency for dueling with single targets in the laning phase and taking out carries as the game progresses.
- Guerrilla gives Veres added movement and attack speed to make her feel more of an assassin, ganking lanes while hitting hard and fast.
- Skewer complements Onslaught by giving Veres even more damage and armor pierce, allowing her to mow down her targets easily.
Hero Counters
Tank
Veres struggles against tanks because of their high health and crowd control. These are big counters to her ability to strike first. Avoid fighting with them unless they have very low HP or your team is moving together to gank.
Warrior
Warriors are a bit more manageable for Veres, apart from those that pack some crowd control. She has to have a balanced strategy when laning against a warrior, trying to chip away their HP to get the advantage.
Assassin
Veres is an assassin herself, and when it comes to facing against other assassins, things often boil down to who gets in the first strike. As such, you will want to wait for a moment when you can burst them down without allowing a chance to retaliate. This is where Veres’ skills come in, since most of them have a stun or slow to help you tip the battle in your favor right away. Wait for a level advantage or a moment of weakness to come up before engaging with another assassin.
Mage
Veres thrives in taking out Mages. Most mages have weak escape mechanisms, and good Veres players can keep close to their targets to get the kill. However, mages can get the drop on Veres, especially if they manage to hold her in place with a stun or slow.
Marksman
Similar to Mages, Veres can make quick work of marksmen, so long as she gets in close. Being carries, marksmen often have little in terms of escape mechanisms an assassin gets close.
Support
Supports can be trouble for Veres, particularly those who have control abilities. Make sure to focus on the carries first, but be wary of how a support can keep fights in the enemy’s favor.
