Veres Item Builds

Core Items

These items are necessary in order to play Veres optimally. Only diverge from a core item if you are a very experienced player or you have a very good reason for doing so

Arena of Valor Rankbreaker
Rankbreaker
Rankbreaker provides armor penetration as well as some bonus movement speed when out of combat. Veres will be able to zip between lanes with this item, allowing her easy access to enemies all across the map.
Arena of Valor Fenrir's Tooth
Fenrir’s Tooth
Fenrir’s Tooth is Veres’ weapon of choice since offers tremendous amounts of attack damage while additionally amplifying damage done to targets who have less than 50% health. All this complements her abilities nicely, which results in her executing enemies before a fight even starts to favor her team.

Optional Items

Offensive Item Choices

Arena of Valor Rankbreaker
Rankbreaker
Rankbreaker provides armor penetration as well as some bonus movement speed when out of combat. Veres will be able to zip between lanes with this item, allowing her easy access to enemies all across the map.
Arena of Valor Omni Arms
Omni Arms
Providing both a useful suite of stats and a powerful passive, Omni Arms is a great pick for almost any offensively minded physical hero. While it can be tempting to weave normal attacks in-between abilities to get the most out of the item’s passive, the 2-second cooldown on Omni Arms will cause doing so to greatly slow down Veres’ burst. Just be sure to attack your target normally after hitting them with a burst combo.
Arena of Valor Spear of Longinus
Spear of Longinus
Spear of Longinus is great when combatting foes with lots of armor. The item also provides additional HP, giving Veres a bit of additional staying power in fights. The cooldown reduction is also very valuable on Veres as she does not rely on any resources for her abilities.
Arena of Valor Muramasa
Muramasa
Muramasa is a good choice later in the game after the enemy has begun stacking up armor. The percentage based armor pierce will help her cut down opponents no mater how thick their outer shell has become.

Defensive Items Choices

Arena of Valor Mantle of Ra
Mantle of Ra
Mantle of Ra is a wonderful hybrid item that offers Veres both survivability and lethality. The burning aura it provides is also welcome in her kit, it stacking with Leviathan to surround the assassin with a storm of fire.
Arena of Valor Mail of Pain
Mail of Pain
Mail of Pain might seem like an odd pickup for Veres, but it’s a great way to punish any marksmen or warrior who focuses on her. She’ll be able to sweep in to finish them off after the passive has chipped away the attacker’s HP.
Arena of Valor Medallion of Troy
Medallion of Troy
When hunting down enemies that have a lot of ability power, Medallion of Troy will do a lot to keep you afloat. The additional health and cooldown reduction it additionally offers will also go a long way in helping Veres fight.

Boots Upgrade

Arena of Valor Gilded GreavesGilded Greaves
Gilded Greaves is the most common choice when looking for boots for Veres. The resistance they provide helps her survive any control effects her enemies might have up their sleeves.
Arena of Valor Sonic Boots
Sonic Boots
Sonic Boots offer some relief against attack damage centric heroes. The armor and normal attack resistance they provide will allow Veres more protection as she dives enemy marksmen.
Arena of Valor Flashy Boots
Flashy Boots
Reliant on her abilities for damage, high CDR is a great way to increase Veres’s dps. The high amount that the boots offer make them a great option for reaching the 40% cap.

Sample Item Builds

Here we throw caution to the wind and build up Veres to be as deadly as possible. Her abilities will rip through enemy health, allowing her to burst down marksmen and mages with ease. The only bit of survivability here is a bit of health from Omni Arms and the defenses of Blade of Eternity. That said, the damage reduction and damage-based healing offered in her ultimate will prevent the assassin from be immediately annihilated in fights.

A more balanced approach to Veres, this build relies on the assassin’s natural damage to pick off enemies and thereby gives some addition focus on building up her defenses. This build lacks the burst of an attack damage focused build, but it allows her to deal consistent sustained damage rather than relying completely on bursting people down.

This build focuses on shredding the armor off of enemies. It might seem a bit too overboard with the armor pierce, but with this build, Veres can even take down tanks who try to stack armor items.

  1. This is my Veres “Snake Assassin” build (Crit Build) This build hits extremely hard but play with caution

    Kit consist of:
    Claves Sancti
    Gilded Greaves
    Omni Arms
    Muramasa
    Blade of Eternity
    Fenrir’s Tooth

    Arcana:
    Rampage x10
    Assassinate x10
    Skewer x10

  2. Veres has so much damage in her kit already, and her passive has CC resistance and sustain; she’s like another Zephys in the sense that she can go in, and just survive for days while dishing out damage (although Zephys is slightly more bursty and less tanky while Veres is vice versa); I would build her tanky and not build a lot of AD on her because then she becomes squishy and she is also kited easily. My build is Gilded Greaves, Frost Cape, Gaia’s Standard, Odin’s Will, Fenrir’s Tooth and optional items are Hercules Madness, Rankbreaker, or Mail of Pain (they can be placed anywhere within the build, so they don’t necessarily have to be the last spot; for instance, Rankbreaker, Greaves, Cape, Gaia’s, Odin’s, and Fenrir’s, or maybe Mail is the item you choose and you buy it second to last item, etc).

The boots are obviously good because Greaves are arguably the best boots in the game; CC resistance and magic defense. Frost Cape has a passive that slows enemies in an area, and that goes well with her considering you need to be able to stick to enemies; Veres might have her ult and second skill, but otherwise, she’s easily kited. Plus, she has a slow in her kit as well. Gaia’s Standard provides more magic defense, more sustain with its passive, HP and a bit of movement speed; again, that will help her to stick to her enemies and make sure they can’t just avoid her skills. Odin’s Will provides even more tankiness and it’s passive is put to good use on her; she sticks to enemies and survives via tankiness and her passive healing her as she gets those stacks going. Meanwhile, Odin’s passive gives her 10% more damage and 10% more movement speed during combat, which is great to ensure that she can catch up to enemies who are farther away when trying to hit them with her passive; Rankbreaker is good against a team where you can make use of that early armor pierce against a squishy team but the passive only boosts her movement speed outside of combat (It’s still a good item to get but I wouldn’t necessarily say that its a core item). Fenrir’s Tooth is the 5th item (or 6th item depending on your item order and which optional item you choose) and its 200 AD boost is a needed boost because it gives her a huge boost in flat damage and the passive is great for killing enemies who are low when she procs her passive, or when she has the opportunity to ult on them.

Mail of Pain is very good to have for a team that has lot’s of physical damage and especially if they have auto-attack based heroes; it also further boosts her tankiness. Hercules has a good passive for going deep into fights, and it’s like how it works with Zephys; the lower her health is, the more health her passive gains, and Hercules provides a shield that gives her health bar more points, but those points are the shield that Hercules provides. This makes her able to be really deep in enemy fights, and the armor, magic defense, and damage it provides never hurts either.
