Zuka Item Build
Core Items
These items are necessary in order to play Zuka optimally. Only diverge from a core item if you are a very experienced player and/or you have a very good reason for doing so.
This item is a perfect fit for Zuka since he scales well with attack damage and has the ability to squish enemy carries in the back line. Rankbreaker increases the armor pierce of Zuka by 100 per level along with an attack damage increase and cooldown speed. The other passive which gives him movement speed outside combat can help him gank easily in other lanes.
Spear of Longinus is another offensive item that empowers his auto attacks to decrease the armor of the enemy by up to 250. Aside from that, it also grants attack damage, cooldown speed, and armor. This is a very strong item that can let him kill tankier targets.
Omni Arms gives him a lot of stats that can help him in team fights. But what sets this apart and make Zuka even stronger is the passive which empowers his damage after casting an ability. Zuka’s abilites’ passives grant him more damage after casting an ability, and Omni Arms intensifies that damage even more. |
Optional Items
Offensive Options
Fenrir’s Tooth increases the kill potential of Zuka by increasing his damage the less health the enemy has. This imporoves Zuka’s role as an assassin, making him a huge threat against marksmen and other squishy targets.
The Beast adds lifesteal to Zuka’s autoattack, increasing his sustain in team fights. Since he is somewhat squishy, The Beast will help him in trades. It also gives attack damage which can benefit him in ganks and team fights. |
Defensive Options
Ancestral Glory resurrects Zuka after dying, which can be very crucial especially in the late game. This item is viable in every hero, especially for squishier heroes such as Zuka.
Some argue that Soulreaver might be a better jungling item option for Zuka, but Leviathan is a much for effecient item for him because of the added HP. He is already very squishy and building him with Soulreaver will just cause him to die early on after entering a team fight. Leviathan allows you to last longer in team fights and lets you use your combo effectively without dying.
Hercules’ Madness addresses Zuka’s innate squishiness, granting him shield and even more attack damage when his health reaches a certain level.
Shield of the Lost grants Zuka defensive stats such as armor and max HP. the passive, on the other hand, reduces the attack speed of enemies by 30%. This is a must buy item against heavy AD enemy composition or if the enemy marksman is extremely fed. |
Boots Upgrade
Gilded Greaves increases Zuka’s tenacity and magic resistance. This is a good boots upgrade for Zuka since he is very vulnerable once he gets caught with crowd controls.
Get this boots upgrade if the enemy has a lot of auto attack heroes and physical damage. This item greatly counters any physical damage oriented heroes. |
Sample Item Builds
Zuka’s jungle armor piercing item build centers on him being a semi-tanky jungler that can effectively target any heroes he comes across. Since he is squishy in the early game, getting a Leviathan as the first item greatly increases his effectiveness and lessens his chances of dying immediately.
This item build path is the standard laning build for Zuka, offering him decent offensive and defensive stats. What makes this build path effective is that it still gives Zuka effectiveness in dealing with enemies while also surviving longer in team fights.
Spear of Longinus and Rankbreaker are his main offensive items that scales well with his abilities and playstyle. Omni Arms also appear in this build because of how it really fits with Zuka.
This item build is concentrated on pure damage, and nothing else. This is a high risk, high reward build that might drop you a game or win it all. What makes this item build viable is that Zuka can play the role of pure assassin. You will one shot enemies with your abilities as long as you get your engages right and avoid dying when entering team fights. What’s notable in this item build is The Beast. The Beast will let you return your lost health when entering fights, this will be your entire sustain item. It also grants a ton of damage which is why it’s also a strong pickup for him.The usual Spear of Longinus, Rankbreaker, and Omni Arms are present in the item build as well, providing more power for Zuka in ganking and killing enemies. Fenrir’s Tooth caps off this item build off by allowing Zuka to burst down enemies with lower health more effectively.

h8ter’s CDR Build: Rankbreaker-Flashy Boots-Spear of Longinus-Omni Arms-Death Sickle-Fenrir’s Tooth
If i did the math right should be about 45% cooldown
Actually replace Death Sickle with Frost Cape
You should try this build:
rank breaker > sonic boots > fenrir’s tooth > omni arm > muramasa > Hercules’ Madness or Blade of Eternity
I buy fenrir’s tooth early because zuka’s passive has been adjusted
