Participating Teams and Prize Pool Announced for Arena of Valor World (AWC) 2019

Garena and Tencent Games released further details for the upcoming Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) 2019, including the participating teams and the prize pool. The international tournament, including the initial group stage, will take place in Da Nang, Vietnam from the end of June to mid-July 2019.

Participating Teams

For this year’s AWC, 12 teams from 9 regions will compete in the international mobile MOBA tournament. These regions are Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore/Malaysia/Philippines, Korea, America/Europe, Mainland China, and Japan. AWC 2019 is Japan’s first time to participate since the server was established last November 2018.

Arena of Valor - Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) 2019
The Arena of Valor World Cup 2019 showcases a total prize pool of 500,000 USD. When it comes to the team prizes, AWC 2019 will award 200,000 USD to the champion, 110,000 USD to the 1st runner-up, and 50,000 USD to the 3rd and 4th place winners.

Global Ban Pick Mode

Arena of Valor - Global Ban-Pick System

As previously stated, AWC 2019 will implement a “Global Ban Pick Mode” from the knockout stage onward. Global BP prohibits the same hero from being played more than once in a match by the same team. Heroes that were previously picked by teams will be automatically banned in the remaining matches.

Both Tencent Games and Garena believe that implementing this rule will increase gameplay and hero pick diversity.
