Tencent has released some details about an upcoming patch to Arena of Valor's Switch edition. We provide the details as well as some commentary on the changes.

Overview

The Nintendo Switch edition of Arena of Valor receives its first patch. While much smaller than mobile edition patches, it brings the first tweaks to this edition of the game. Alongside the patch is news of Ryoma’s debut on the Switch. None of the game’s systems or mechanics are being tweaked this time around. The list of changes provided by Tencent consisted solely of hero tweaks.

Hero Changes

Valhein

Growth attack speed: 4% → 3%
Growth attack damage: 14.8 → 13

	Pocket Glaive

Red Glaive Damage Reduced: (+1.4AD)(+0.65AP) → (+1.2AD)(+0.65AP)
Yellow Glaive Damage Reduced: (+1.0AD)(+0.55AP) → (+0.9AD)(+0.55AP)
Blue Glaive Damage Reduced: (+1.0AD)(+0.55AP) → (+0.9AD)(+0.55AP)

	Curse of Death

Cooldown Increased: 10/9.4/8.8/8.2/7.6/7 → 12/11.4/10.8/10.2/9.6/9

	Bullet Storm

Per-Bullet Movement Speed Bonus Decreased: 10% → 7%

While perhaps not as necessary as nerfs to Valhein in the mobile edition had been in the past, this does bring him closer to his mobile counterpart. Many Switch players have been frustrated by the marksman’s ability to kite and stun. This was particularly difficult to deal with given the versions scarcity when it came to mobile heroes. Valhein looks to fall down into the punchline he was before the Blitz Blade changes.

Slimz

Attack Damage per Level Decreased: 17.1 → 16

	Flying Spear

Movement Speed Bonus Decreased: 60% → 40%

	Savage Potion

Movement Speed Bonus Decreased: 20/30/40% → 20% at all levels
Max HP Damage on Hit Decreased: 4%/5%/6% → 3%/4%/5%

A bit of an odd change, as Slimz hadn’t been heavily complained about. In addition, some of these changes bring him below his mobile edition self. While it is true that the newer Switch players have flocked to picking marksmen, Slimz wasn’t as stand out as others like Tel’annas or Violet. If anything, he will likely fall completely out of notice with these changes.

Blade of Eternity	Armor +120	Fighting Spirit: Increase damage dealt by 10% Nirvana: Resurrects wearer 2 seconds after death with 2000 + (hero level * 100) HP. This effect has a 150 second cooldown and can only be triggered twice in the same match.
