Omen, The Insatiable, is a pure melee warrior class hero who boasts stackable movement speed, attack speed and reflect damage. He is speculated to be released on multiple servers.

Omen, the Insatiable, Unleashing His Rage

Over the weekend, the official Arena of Valor YouTube account released a teaser lore video for a new hero: Omen, The Insatiable. Omen is currently available on the Taiwan and Vietnam servers, but not on any English-speaking servers. It is not clear which server(s) Omen will be released to, but it’s likely he will be released in Europe at the very least. TeeMee, the last hero to be released on Europe, was simultaneously released to Americas servers as well at the time.

Omen is a pure warrior class hero offering new mechanics in Arena of Valor. He has a stackable passive giving him bonus movement speed and attack speed. While his passive activates, his normal attacks provide bonus (true) damage and his first and second abilities get cooldown reductions.

Omen’s Teaser & Lore

Based on Omen’s Lore, he is apparently one of Maloch’s trump card warriors, too dangerous to use in normal situations. He had been stationed for a long time until Veera picked him up and unleashed his wrath against Arduin and his army, wiping them out.

Omen’s Abilities

Here is an overview of Omen’s abilities in the game:

Thirst (Passive) – Every time Omen hits an enemy with a normal attack, he gains one Thirst point. After reaching five points, Omen increases his movement speed by 60 and his attack speed by 25% for 5 seconds. His strengthened normal attack will also deal 60 true damage and reduce the cooldown for Death’s Beckon and Untouchable by 1 second.
Omen’s 3rd normal attack triggers a second hit that deals 50% damage. The counter is reset after reaching 5 points of Thirst and after coming out of Thirst.

Death’s Beckon (1st ability) – Omen uses his blade to pull all enemies in front of him closer, dealing 200 (+134) physical damage and slowing their movement speed by 25%.

Untouchable (2nd ability) – Omen enters a state of heightened awareness and gains 50% damage reduction, while increasing his movement speed by 25% for 2 seconds. In this state, Omen can reflect normal attacks, dealing physical damage to the attacker, decreasing their movement speed by 50%, and dealing any bonus normal attack effects from Omen’s equipped items or buffs. Each attacker can only have their attacks reflected once.

Death’s Embrace (Ultimate) – Omen rushes forward and deals 400 (+201) physical damage to the first enemy hero he runs into. He then summons a plasma sword that curses the target for 5 seconds. While cursed, the target deals less damage with attacks and cannot leave the sword’s area.

Omen’s first ability is a hook pulling his enemy towards him while inflicting him/her with reduced movement speed. The second ability makes Omen almost omnipotent by making him gain 50% damage reduction plus additional movement speed for 2 seconds. While in this state, he can reflect physical damage back to his attackers and decrease their movement speed (the reflect damage also receives bonus damage/effects based on his current items or buffs). Last but not least, Omen’s ultimate is single-target tether ability where the first enemy hero he runs into is weakened, chained and locked within an area for 5 seconds.

Arena of Valor Overview

Arena of Valor is a massively popular mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena which features intense player-versus-player combat similar to genre titan League of Legends. The game is the world’s highest-grossing mobile game app, first launching its beta version in China on November 26, 2015. The game is currently playable in Europe, North America, South America, and parts of East and Southeast Asia, and has a monthly active player base of 200 million users as of 2017.
