Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2018 Group Stage Results
The intense action at the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2018 resumed last November 30 to December 2, 2018 with the seed teams from Vietnam (Team Flash), Thailand (Bazaar Gaming), South Korea (ahq e-Sports Club) and Taiwan (J Team) taking on their opponents in their respective groupings. The last team to place in each group will be eliminated (4 in total), leaving only 8 teams to fight it out in the playoffs on December 7 to 9, 2018.

---|---|---|---|
Place | Team | Record | Result |
1 | Team Flash (Vietnam) | 2-0 | Moves to Playoffs |
2 | Toyota Diamond Cobra (Thailand) | 1-1 | Moves to Playoffs |
3 | Nova Esports (Europe) | 0-2 | Eliminated |
Vietnam’s Team Flash reigned supreme in Group A, winning against both Thailand’s Toyota Diamond Cobra and Europe’s Nova Esports at the tournament. An impressive showing from Toyota Diamond Cobra lead to them snagging one win against Team Flash in Day 3 but to ultimately fall against Vietnam’s top team to close out their series. Meanwhile, Nova Esports Europe exits the stage and stakes the western region’s claim to the championship to North America’s Allegiance in Group D.
Group B

Place | Team | Record | Result |
1 | Bazaar Gaming (Thailand) | 1-1 | Moves to Playoffs |
2 | OverClockers (Vietnam) | 1-1 | Moves to Playoffs |
3 | Oh My God (China) | 1-1 | Eliminated |
A somewhat odd decision was reached in Group B to declare Thailand’s Bazaar Gaming, Vietnam’s OverClockers and China’s Oh My God in first, second and third place respectively after each team locked in 1-1 records each (Bazaar Gaming defeated OverClockers in Day 1, OverClockers defeated Oh My God in Day 2 and Oh My God defeated Bazaar Gaming in Day 3). The decision to eliminate Oh My God was based on their team failing to meet the condition of clocking in a win in 15 minutes and 4 seconds in their second game against Bazaar Gaming.

ALPHA Red managed to pull-off one win against Taiwan’s top team before losing out in Day 2. Meanwhile, the western region endures heartbreak as their last hope for the AIC 2018 title is eliminated from the tournament this year.
