Arena of Valor North America & Latin America Launch Party Highlights

A community live stream event was held in celebration of Arena of Valor‘s new servers released today. The two new servers cover the North America (USA & Canada) and Latin America regions. Their sudden announcement and release were a big surprise, especially since Tencent had made a statement that the released had been pushed back to an unspecified date in 2018.

Two servers released instead of just one in order to minimize ping, especially when players are connecting from different cities and states. Also, it allows for the building up of regions in time for future eSports activities. Both North America (NA) and Latin America (LA) servers are already playable on iOS and Android devices with a Nintendo Switch version coming in the future. Tencent plans to make a further announcement regarding the Nintendo Switch port before the end of the year.

Community Live Stream Matches

Arena of Valor launched in the new regions using the Version 11 update. As of launch, a lower number of heroes is available to the Americas than other servers. Tencent likely doesn’t want to throw in the full roster of heroes so that their NA and LA players can spend more time with each hero available rather than getting overwhelmed. This will help players understand each hero’s role and synergy with other hero classes. DC heroes such as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman will be added at a later date.

Current NA and LA players must obtain five heroes before gaining access to ranked matches. Players can unlock these in the shop or through the Road to Glory. Casual Matches will continue to be available as well after getting all the heroes from Road to Glory. Furthermore, Arena of Valor will be conducting a special event on all Tencent servers (NA, LA, and EU) for existing players to obtain the ultra-rare Catacombs Arthur skin!

Arena of Valor is a massively popular mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena which features intense player-versus-player combat similar to genre titan League of Legends. Arena of Valor is the world’s highest-grossing mobile game app, first launching its beta version in China on November 26, 2015. The game is also playable in other East Asia countries and to most South-East Asian regions having a monthly active player base of 200 million users in 2017.
