Guide for Wyndon Champion Cup Finals Stage (Nessa)

The Wyndon Champion Cup is the pokemon league in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The trainer who wins the semifinals proceeds to the finals stage to again face the Galar gym leaders, including Nessa.

Recommended Pokemon

Golisopod and Pelipper are new additions to Nessa’s team. The former is partly a bug type, while the latter is also a flying type. These two Pokemon serve to weaken yours with attacks like First Impression. Pelipper can also deploy Tailwind to boost her party’s speed for a few turns. Having a well-trained grass type certainly helps when facing against the Pokemon that she used in the gym challenge. Meanwhile, you can swap it out when she uses Golisopod or Pelipper to avoid any harmful attacks from connecting.

  • Electric: Boltund, Rotom, Toxtricity
  • Flying: Corviknight, Gyarados
  • Grass: Ferrothorn, Rillaboom

Nessa Finals Stage Battle

  • Golisopod (Lv. 51), Pelipper (Lv. 51), Seaking (Lv. 52), Barraskewda (Lv. 52), Drednaw (Lv. 53)

Nessa’s team grew, with Golisopod and Pelipper joining the mix. She sends out Golisopod first which, like Marnie’s Pokemon, uses a move with boosted priority at the start of the match. Lead or swap out a flying type Pokemon such as Corviknight to take the hit. If your Pokemon fails to knock it out, Golisopod retreats back to its pokeball with its ability. The ability forces you to battle one of Nessa’s other Pokemon. If she sends out Pelipper, swap in an electric type like Boltund and have it zap Pelipper. It might have already blown a Tailwind, so save your grass type for later. We suggest having Rillaboom or Ferrothorn use powerful grass moves to deal with her remaining Pokemon. After knocking out four of her Pokemon, use dynamax on your grass type and execute a max move on Drednaw to pick up the knock out.
