Guide for Wyndon Champion Cup Finals Stage (Icla)

The Wyndon Champion Cup is the pokemon league in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The trainer who wins the semifinals proceeds to the finals stage to face one of the Gym challengers.

Recommended Pokemon

Icla brought a team of Poison types and four of these have secondary types. Fortunately all of these Pokemon are weak against ground types and the majority is weak to psychic types. Your team should be around level 75.

Here are the suggested Pokemon to use against Icla’s team:

• Ground: Dugtrio, Excadrill, Flygon
• Psychic: Gardevoir, Espeon

Icla Finals Stage Battle

• Toxicroak (Lv. 56), Drapion (Lv. 56), Garbodor (Lv. 57), Galarian Weezing (Lv. 57), Toxapex (Lv. 58)

Icla first sends out Toxicroak which is also a fighting type. You may use a psychic type like Espeon or a ground type like Flygon to knock it out. The rest of his Pokemon are also weak to these types with the exception of Drapion having an immunity to psychic. When he sends out Drapion, you can switch out your Psychic type for a ground type and use moves like Earthquake or Drill Run. When he’s down to his last three Pokemon, you have three turns to unleash Max Mindstorm. Using dynamax moves accomplishes two things. One is that you deny him the chance to buff Garbodor with Amnesia, as well as prevent any spikes from touching your side of the field. When he sends out Weezing, he might try to stall your dynamax by using protect, so it may take a few more turns to close this one out.
