Guide for Wyndon Champion Cup Finals Stage (Cher)
The Wyndon Champion Cup is the pokemon league in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The trainer who wins the semifinals proceeds to the finals stage to face one of the Gym challengers.
Cher uses rock type Pokemon much like Gordie. Her Shuckle is also a bug type, while Barbaracle is also a water type. That being said, Rillaboom, Inteleon, Corviknight and Excadrill are all useful for this match. These Pokemon are easy to get early on, and should come in high levels by the time you’re going through a few more rounds of the champion cup. Bear in mind that some of her Pokemon carry protect, so you might have to play around it for a bit. Your team should be around level 75.
Here are the suggested Pokemon to use against Cher’s team:
- Grass: Rillaboom, Rotom-Mow, Shiftry, Ludicolo
- Ground: Flygon, Excadrill
- Steel: Corviknight
- Water: Inteleon
Cher Finals Stage Battle
- Gigalith (Lv. 56), Stonjourner (Lv. 56), Shuckle (Lv. 57), Sudowoodo (Lv. 57), Barbaracle (Lv. 58)
Cher’s first Pokemon is Gigalith which has high defense and may also boost its allies with sandstorm. If you chose Grookey, you can have Rillaboom use Drum Beating. Trainers who picked Sobble, can also get Inteleon’s signature move known as Snipe Shot. Another great Pokemon to use is Rotom-Mow. Apart from its grass type, it also has levitate which helps it switch in for free if Cher’s Pokemon decides to use a ground type move. Rotom-Mow also learns Will-o-Wisp which effectively cuts the attack stat of Cher’s Pokemon. In addition, when her Pokemon is burned, it takes away some of its health between turns which can help Rotom bring them within the range of a knock out from its strong grass type moves. Other great types to use are ground, steel, and water. When Cher sends out Shuckle, use dynamax and hit it with any of the above mentioned types. For example, Max Steelspike comes in handy in order to raise your defense stat by one stage. Two of her Pokemon carry protect so you might have to repeat the same moves until they connect.
