Pokemon Sword and Shield - Wild Area

Overview

The wild area is a location that is continually changing, the weather within no exception. These changes depend on the day and varies by location. Since the Pokemon that appear in the wild area vary according to the weather, knowing the weather can give you a better idea of what to expect. To know more about the current weather, check the map before heading out.

Weather

The first day of a month will have the same weather all throughout the area. Other than that, some conditions appear only after achieving some milestones.

Types of Weather

The dynamic weather system consists of nine weather conditions. The default is clear skies. Similar to this is overcast, which can be described as cloudy. Both of these conditions do not have any effect on the battlefield. Conditions like raining and thunderstorm send a downpour in battle. Snow and snowstorms bring hail. The latter of both groups are more intense. The other weather patterns are dependant on terrain. Harsh sun summons sunny day in battle, while sandstorm causes an effect of the same name. Last, but not the least, is foggy, which covers the ground in misty swirls when you enter battle.
