The Wyndon Champion Cup is the pokemon league in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The trainer who wins the semifinals proceeds to the finals stage to face one of the Gym challengers.

Recommended Pokemon

Melony raised a team of strong ice types. Unlike your gym challenge, Melony now adds a Mr. Rime to deter fighting types. Save for Pangoro, if you opt to use fighting types, make sure to knock out Mr. Rime first. Your team should be around level 75.

Here are the suggested Pokemon to use against Melony’s team:

• Fighting: Conkeldurr, Lucario, Machamp, Pangoro
• Fire: Arcanine, Cinderace
• Rock: Tyranitar
• Steel: Bisharp, Corviknight

Melony Finals Stage Battle

• Frosmoth (Lv. 60), Mr. Rime (Lv. 60), Eiscue (Lv. 61), Darmanitan (Lv. 61), Lapras (Lv. 62)

Melony starts with Frosmoth which summons hailstorm to boost its team’s ice type attacks. You can steal the weather by sending out Tyranitar after Frosmoth faints. Use a strong attack like Rock Slide to knock out Mr. Rime before it starts getting plenty of Nasty Plot boosts. After defeating around three of her Pokemon, use dynamax and attack with Max Rockfall. Fighting types are also good options but you need a dark or fire type to deal with Mr. Rime to come in safely. Other options include fire and steel types but they may struggle against Melony’s last few Pokemon.
